Middle-earth: Total War Content Release

by | 12/16/2007 21:30 PM

Middle-earth: Total War was the first LotR-mod for the Total War games, first started on Medieval, and then ported to Rome. Unfortunately work on the mod was halted some time ago, so Burns from the METW team has decided to put the mod out as a content release. The mod is for Rome: Total War - Barbarian Invasion v1.6, and it is fully mod-foldered, so it will not interfere with the original game or other mods which may be installed. The custom battles are fully playable with all 11 factions (see previews below), but the campaign has a CTM (Crash to Menu) error. Other modders are free to use any of the work included in the mod, provided they credit the METW team.

New Exclusive Fourth Age Gallery on RTWH

    by | 12/11/2007 17:42 PM

The Fourth Age is one of the most popular mods for RTW and apocalypsis from their team has been a regular visitor to our forums to tell us about progress with their mod, post screenshots and also provide support for people having trouble using the mod. As a reward for the above, we have decided to give the Fourth Age team a dedicated gallery to show off their best screenshots which you can find here.

The Fourth Age aims to recreate the world that Tolkien created after the end of the War of the Ring. The aim is to create an "alternate reality" of what might have happened after the death of King Elessar better known as Aragorn. It is a total conversion of RTW and has 6 playable factions with more to come. The team drop into TWH to let us know of updates. Here is a link to the most recent release news from the team.

Here is one example of the work that has gone into the mod:

Please note that regular forum participation with regard to your modification is a minimum requirement to receive a gallery on RTWH for your mod. Email the moderation team if you would like a gallery for your modification.
