Ok, this is a campaign contest designed to both provide a showcase of the latest XC features as well as insights for bug-testing purposes.

Here are the rules:

1) Pick the gauls, horde in the first few turns, travel with your mighty stacks of doom all the way to Patala and settle yourself in India

2) You are allowed to sack settlements at will as well as recruit whatever units and mercs you feel before and during the horde travel but NOT to settle anywhere else

3) From your new starting point try and fullfill the faction objectives for the campaign

4) In order to keep this open and not too frustrating let's keep difficulty to M/M, reduced bonuses are suggested but not required

5) No cheating allowed other than toggle_fow

6) Lots of screenshots are welcome!

The first to reach the goal will win a surprise prize!*

*(don't expect cash of course but let's say the winner will leave a mark into the next XC)

So, who's up to it?
So, the requirements are:
use Extended Cultures 3.2.3
use the Gauls
horde quickly (let your settlements revolt, then horde when you have only your capitol)
move to Patala, sacking and pillaging on the way if you wish
settle in Patala, then fulfill the victory conditions.

Install options are all up to you.

I think we will get some really interesting campaigns going.

I might have a go at this once my last handful of tests are over. Is there a set deadline?

No deadline, the first that will manage to reach all objectives will win and end the competition.

It's the honor system, also we expect pictures now and then, plus one can do this only so quickly. I doubt the prize Zarax has in mind will be worth cheating for anyway. Not like it's cash or anything.

You aren't too late to join in.

Let's just say that the nature of the prize is such that if cheating is found after the award it can be turned into a form of permanent humiliation...

Unfortunately usually where there is a contest. With prize of value or not. There will always be some who will cut corners, or cheat. It's human nature, some can't handle resisting, where most others can. But the contest does sound fun.

The sad truth is, even if I used every cheat imaginable, on M\M, as Gaul, in XC, I'd either die or give up within a week. But will the humiliating punishment be a) a rick-roll, b) having a ridiculously bad general named after them or c) Create a shame thread and get everyone on HG to hurl abuse at them? (And everyone at TWC as well, as you're presumably hosting it there as well)

Bring it on Caesar, I'm definitely in on this. And as a side note must we play on M/M or can we play it harder, like H/H?

If you want to increase the difficulty I see nothing wrong with that.

Anyone had any luck so far?

The punishment is for cheaters only BTW, there is no shame in loosing this in a fair way.
