Go into desc_strat.txt and move senate_romans to playable factions. The senate is buggy, so be prepared for R:TW to crash to desktop a lot.

hmm, if there are bugs when you switch it to playable factions i don't see the reason in doing that :S
As long as you dont click the senate tab, it'll work fine.

If you play as the senate does that mean the other Roman factions wont turn on you??
And if they dont are you even able to attack them?

I don't know if they stay allied to you, but I know you can attack them. But that automatically starts civil war. I did that and I took the families out quickly.
Like others said though, do not click on the Senate Tab, or it will crash. Other than that, it plays just fine. (Well, no faction movie)
