I was playing a campaign game and late in the game I finally got around to fighting Rome. In one battle yesterday I came across a battle hardened army with many units with lots of experience. No problem. Here is what I thought was ridiculous, the army had a unit of Flaming Pigs with 3 silver chevrons! Am I to suppose to believe that the Pigs in question had survived so many battles after being lit on fire that they had accumulated this experience? And seriously, for those of you who use this amusing but mostly useless unit, how often does any of the unit survive the battle to gain this experience? Do people spend time retraining pig units to keep up that experience? Does the unit really perform any better with that kind of experience anyway? Do the pigs, while on fire, form a perfect ring around the elephants and then pursue them off the field or something? I think this is a case of the computer randomly assigning experience to units because it is a late game army. There was also a gold chevron unit of wardogs which I find almost as unlikely.
