Playing as Gauls on VH/VH. Doing quite well. Am having problems with both senate and brutii bribing my settlements. Although I dont think the Brutii will have the money to try that again! I am trying to work out how the games works out the cost. Obviously population and army present are going to be added togeather? Or is it based on settlement 'level'. And also I presume the cost of any agents, and of course family members with additional cost or reduction of cost depending on traits. Also distance from capital seems to count. But I am wondering if anybody knows if the actual city infrastructure and population happiness counts? Like if I have 2 settlments with a pop of 6000 each and all other thing are equal (everything) exept that one city has an extra building, is that city going to be more expensive? And if my 2 identicle cities have different tax rates and therefore different happiness does that affect cost as well?
Thanks for any input. I cant practice the bribing thing as I keep my treasury low to stave off corruption
Apart from this annoying bribing thing the campaign goes well. My first Forresters are rolling out of 2 settlements and Chosen Swords and Hvy Cav are coming out of another. All with epona of course. The Julii are gone and the Brutii are back down to there 2 starting cities!
