Is it just me or does it seem that the ai isnt nearly as good as it was in the older games like STW? i mean in STW they would try to ambush u and so on but in RTW they will do the same thing every battle. Example - im playin g as the greeks and like twice the scippi siege and attack syracus with twice the number of solders i have. Only possesing hoplites i just set my men to all defend the city center, and twice the stupid ai didnt capture the towers and such and ran their men around randomly, took so many casualties that they turned and ran without every nearing my men. I know this game is long and complex, but with all the ai prollems, ai pathfinding irregularities, and bugs it is seeming to me more and more that this game is a bit half baked....

I once had one of my city (athens) besieged by one big and two small armies. Luckily, I had a big army inside. So I attacked the besieger with another, smaller army. All five armies took part in the battle. My armies were on both sides of the battlefield, they were between, I was readying for some slaughtering... but I suddenly realised that my big army, most of which was cavalry, was quietly walking because the AI had decided I did not need help...Needless to say, my outnumbered army lost (fighting 1 against 3) and my other AI-led army was still halfway the battlefield...I had to use autores for a result that would make sense.
