V-Archers
O-Elephants
Above is the formation and I'll explain how each part works. 1. Your elephants are in front, Phalanxes behind, and Archers behind the Phalanxes, with cavalry to the sides. 2. Do not charge the enemy-this a a defensive formation-although it become offensive. Once the enemy comes to you, charge your elephants right into their front ranks-this will scare them enemy and break their formations. All this time your archers should be peppering the enemy with arrows. 3. Now the Phalanxes come in, whatver enemies made it through your elephants charge will be met by phalanxes and arrows from the archers behind them. This should break the enemies first charge. The cavalry protect the flanks because they are the weakest spot in this formation. 4. Once the enemy is broken, charge your cavalry and ride them down or chase them off the map-so now you've routed their units and most of their army should be decimated-try this out and I hope it works as good as it did for me. Extra Tips: 1.Put your units back as far as possible forcing the enemy to march and become tired. 2.Never charge your elephants into a rank of Hoplites, phlanxes, or Pharaoh's Guards. 3.The cavalry are also used to defend your flanks, not just for the final charge. 4.Charge your elephants on swordsmen, cavalry on archers, and phalanxes vs phalanxes 5. This strategy will annihalate the Parthians-remember that. More coming soon! Why?-Because the Greeks/Macedonians have [This message has been edited by Emperor_Julian (edited 10-01-2004 @ 08:04 AM).]
