I'm Egypt. I have a huge city. Julii attacks me. I sally out. I put archers on wall, phalanx inside. I pepper their army with missiles. Their army runs to some hill out of range. I have now killed 51 % of their army with just 6 units of pharaos bowmen. I triple speed untill the game ends. Will I lose my city? Thanks!

if they dont do anything it will count as a draw and you will keep your city while they have heavy losses.

Its dammed annoying when you sally out to do battle with a sieging army sometimes. You sally out spend time getting your army just right then the sieging army takes one look at your army and marches off.
I have had this twice when playing as Britain against the Romans

I like sallying out when the enemy attacks a city (via battle map)
If you get out quick enough, you can engage their troops when they are carrying their equipment, charging cavalry cut down men carrying ladders very well. Plus, your archers and slingers and towers can wreak havoc on the enemy.
Then again, this is usually if I have cavalry superiority.

Good times, noodle salad. What makes it so hard is not that you had it bad, but that you're that pissed that so many others had it good." Jack Nicholson
