I don't always understand how it works.
I'm not even sure it works all the time.
I will have a unit of cavalry I will double click an enemy unit and they start riding toward the enemy. They start shouting then lower their spears as they approach the enemy at full speed, then you see men fly everywhere. THe charge worked.
Other times in what seems to be the same exact situation.
I will have a unit of cavalry I will double click an enemy unit and they start riding toward the enemy. They keep riding (running) eventually make contact and engage in hand to hand combat.
In the second scenario, no infantry units get tossed around, no men on horseback scream as they lower their spears ready to impale those suckers in front of them.
The same happens with infantry, although when they charge they wave around their shields and spears in the air and when they don't they keep them by their sides.
What gives? What am I doing differently that causes units to actually charge or just run? AFAIK I'm not.
Has anyone else ever experienced this?
