First off, a disclaimer: I am not asking for a CD key/ key generator. Do not give me a link to one, or the mods will smite you. Also, if this topic even borders on something illegal, go ahead and close it.
Now, I need someone to tell me where I can find my CD key. I want to play online, but it says that I need to retype in my CD key. I know I typed it in when I first installed the game, but I can't remember where it said the CD key.
Does anyone know if its on the box, or the manual or something? I can't remember where I saw it.

I have RTW Gold, and it came printed on a green slip of paper inside the box.
Try on the inside of the back cover of the manual, thats where cd keys have been for me in the past, cant recall if it were rtw or mtw2 but look there.

I got the Rome Total War Gold Edition with BI included if that helps at all.

All the versions of Gold come with BI. That is all RTW Gold is, RTW and BI in the same box. There seem to be different versions of it. One with 3 RTW cds and 1 BI cd (which is the one I have), and another version with both RTW and BI on a single dvd. I am not sure if there are others.
My version of RTW (Gold, with BI and RTW on one DVD) has it's CD-Key on the back of the manual.

Back of the manual is where mine is. I remember when I bought Shogun: Total War and it had no cd key so I took it back to the shop and they gave me a new copy.
If you can't find it and you're sure you have all the bits & bobs, it might be worth going back to the shop.

I don't think they take it back if its open because of possible copyright violations.

I know, no stores are suppposed to take games back because of copyright laws, at least in America, I'm not sure the laws in other countries but I've ran into that not to long ago and I was pissed because it was a PS2 game and the damn thing didn't work...I was like how can I reproduce an opperating copy of something which is defective? They wouldn't give me my money back or even in store credit...bastards...If I wasn't passive and felt like getting arrested I woulda went all Bruce Lee on their ass...
