In my last campaign as the Seleucids as i defeated a Julii army just above Rome it sent me a message saying i took an Eagle from the spoils. Now i know about the Eagle being a standard of the Roman Legions and the legionaries are to die defending the Eagles and such but what does it matter if i took one? I would have thought that through all the battles i had fought and won against the Romans i would have captured many Eagles but only once did it tell me and i saw no difference afterwards, i looked at Capua's Stats (That is where it was sent it said) and it didn't appear to have changed at all... Any help?

I tend to notice Roman armies start to have eagles emerging later on in the game, usually when they're very rich and powerful. For instance often in the latter game, Brutus would own all of Greece and almost everything north of it, and his armies are vast, then see the Early Legionary unit, with a larger number of men than a usually one (if on large scale, normal EL have 80, I think the Eagle EL unit has 120). I ahevn't played as the Romans for ages, but something tells me if you're still friends with the Senate at that stage, they reward you with them? So possibly a sign of a sucessful army if it has an eagle in its armoury?
Subrosa; Does a General get +1 command star for 1 eagle, +2 for , +3 for 3 etc, or just +1 for 1, and +2 for 2 and no more?
Would I be getting mixed up a bit if I thought I'd had a general in the past with "Eagle taker" in his name?
