Is there a guide as to which campaign/battle difficulty settings do exactly what? For example, does HARD mean that I will be attacked more?

The effects for battle difficulty are as thus: Easy: your forces get +2 defence and +2 morale Medium: none Hard: enemy forces get +2 defence and +2 morale Very hard: enemy forces get +4 defence and +4 morale
In the campaign the AI gets large financial bonuses on the higher difficulty levels, while your farming income is decreased. On easy you get bonuses. The AI sometimes gets new armies out of thin air on Very Hard.
btw, welcome to TWH!

Ive been told by a few on this site that the defence / morale bonus was +7 on very hard.
