I must agree with Ichon where he points out the fact that the barbarian factions are too weak. Germania and Dacia did not pose a great threat to Romans, however they presented a fierce resistance to the north and the northeast of the Empire. That, and the fact that those regions were not as well developed as the rest of the Empire, meaning roads, ports, etc., was the main reason why Hadrian left so many recommendations that the next step in Roman rule should be the protection of borders, instead of it's expansion. So, it would be nice to see a mod that makes them really hard to conquer, but factions that do not expand much, or rather, any at all. I know that Hadrian's period and the resistance of the tribes north of Rome is set a long time after RTW Vanilla time frame, but Ichon is right: the barbarian factions are a piece of cake to beat. Too bloody easy. They should have much larger armies with crappy units but with great morale, heh.
Now, going back to the subject of this post, I'd played the Extended Greek Mod a while ago and it was pretty fun - if you mean to play with a Hoplite-based faction.
I have checked other forum and seems that Rome Surrectum and Rome Total Realism are the most popular. I would like to hear what people that have played them thinks.
Cheers.
