I know the basics about chariots. They scare people, cause a crapload of damage, are fast, hard to control, succumb to spears, especially phalanxes, etc. What I want to know is their terrain disadvantage. I recently fought three Amazon chariots with a half-strength unit of Barbarian Cavalry Mercenaries. The battleground was a river, and the fight was entirely in the river. I won with 10 casualties. This makes me think that Chariots have a disadvantage in water.
What terrains are good to fight against chariots on? What terrains are bad?

I noticed both the Barbarian Cavalry and Chariots were slowed down. I think a river crossing slows any unit down.
