Hey I'm on my way to another Roman civl war, I just want to know what your strategy is for surviving.
For me its serious Prep.
As soon as I get past 6 plebian points I start building large armies in my Roman cities, something I avoid during the early game, because i am not threatened. Second I send a swarm of diplomats with huge money purses to buy alliances and cease fires with as many other nations as possible, still i keep sizable forces on my borders, expecially the borders I share with my roman "friends". I also build up large navies and send them to blockade ALL roman ports, lower income, slower army movement, etc. Once the Senate outlaws me I send 3-5 huge armies into italy. 1 to attacke rome, 2 to attack the other capitals, and 2 to be standby backup armies. Rome is always my first target, then I deal with the other romans. Once Ive destroyed their capitals I move on their other lands. In about 50 turns, I have conquered the known world.
