Well I recently started playing Rome: Total War again. I always liked the game but only played vs AI. Me and my friend decided to play a 1v1 and I saved the replay. I uploaded it to youtube looking to get some advice to improve. Please don't just yell I suck or stuff like that, you can point out my flaws in my strategy and so on. You can also comment my friends play. Hope I get some feedback because I'm realy looking to improve my play. Take care, cya
I didn't get a chance to watch the whole battle start to finish, but I saw enough to make a few suggestions (if you already do these, disregard ):
1) Try to have your archers focus on one target most of the time, and when that unit gets close to your line, switch them to another target further back.
2) Put your legions in the front line, on Guard Mode, and with Fire at Will enabled (this is the little bow icon on the lower right-hand corner of your screen when the unit is selected. This should allow them to throw both of their pila before the enemy engages, which is devastating.
3) Don't charge your cavalry into the enemy immediately; wait until they're fully engaged. Also, attempt to take out the enemy cavalry first, so you don't have to worry about it.
