I'm sure most of us have a few house rules that we have going, be it never recruit a certain unit, to playing ironman chivalry/dread. Does anyone have any?
I had an idea yesterday, actually, for a 'special rule' (hence this thread) while reading about the 100 years war- Loans. Much of England's Hundred Years War campaign was financed by loans from very important peeps. I remembered the add_money cheat, and then suddenly thought "why don't we use the add_money cheat as a loan?"
It's quite simple. You borrow as much as you want, but you have to repay it at some stage (via the add_money cheat again) with a fixed interest rate- when, and how much is up to you. First thing that comes to my head is by the time the king dies- he is taking the loan out after all, and if he dies his creditors will swoop and want repaying. So, repay the loan (plus interest) before he pops it, otherwise the new king will be forced to have to type in 'add_money -(amount)' and perhaps end up in a nasty financial situation.
Just make sure you make a note of it, and the turn number, so you can calculate the interest- 1.5% per turn on the original loan ought to do it?
And I shall go Softly into the Night Taking my Dreams As will You
