Hey guys, something pretty cool I was trying tonight in my Germania campaign:
Screeching Women + Berkserkers + Warhounds + Fire Arrows
I keep insta-routing enemy units almost before we close combat. It's definitely a different and less costly way to fight. I suppose it wouldn't work against high quality troops or in a siege battle, though.

It's a bit like what hannibal did at cannae. Only that was a curved bow formation. The curve faced the romans, but was expected to break so that the romans found themselves surrounded at the flanks.

i use the scare square almost religiously. and only just read about it. haha i use archers as my "offensive" unit, phalanx's as my "defensive" units and beserkers or night raiders to scare off my opponent. though i must say that in my opinion, the best product of this, is that the archers level up VERY fast. soo you'll have archers with 15+ missile attack. which can do some big damage to almost any unit. and if you mix the beserkers with night raiders it can actually save a bit of the beserkers from archers. im gona try that triangle thing tonight though.
