Hi guys & girls...came to this site for modding tips for a while but never got around to registering. I ran into an issue now that i need help with. I just got M2TW:Kingdoms, and I saw that to add units i had to download both the python software and the string_bin converter. my issue is that i have no idea what to do from here and i cant find the answer anywhere...I unpacked all my files, deleted the 2 geography files, downloaded python 2.7 (2.5 wasnt available) and downloaded the string_bin converter and the 7zip to open it, but i have no clue what to do now or how to use them. HELP!!!!!

Mythic Commodore has quite a good (I think, I only used half of it when I dabbled) guide http://medieval2.heavengames.com/m2tw/mod_portal/tutorials/new_units/index.shtml
Rightly or wrongly it seems to suggest you don't need to update the .bin files. For at least somethings I thought that the text files were built from the .bin, rather than the other way around, but I'm guessing the guide is right for this part.

The modifications forum (http://rtw.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/forums/display.cgi?action=t&fn=9) will probably be a bit more helpful on specific questions.

I've been meaning to get the whole Python etc bundle to get a better look at the traits .bin file; but it's one of the many things that I'm nowhere near getting to the end of.

Welcome to the forums and good luck with your modding
