It's got some of the stuff already mentioned but who cares.

I feel the same way I did after playing Stronghold 2 for about 15 minutes, like it was my birthday and all my friends had wheeled a giant birthday cake into the room, and I was filled with hopes dreams and desires when suddenly out of the cake pops out not a beautiful buxom maid, but a cranky old hobo that just shanks me then takes $60 dollars out of my pocket and walks away saying "deal, with it".

I care!
And, surprisingly, the minimum system requirements will be fairly low; a decent machine from two years ago should do the trick.
Phew.
Perhaps Empire will finally gift the Total War series with an online campaign map mode.
Aw please, that would be great!

Online campaign? Frankly, good. Even more frankly - what took them so long?

Online campaign? I'm not so sure -- wouldn't it take absolutely ages?

"[President Warren G. Harding's speeches] leave the impression of an army of pompous phrases moving over the landscape in search of an idea; sometimes, these meandering words actually capture a straggling thought, and bear it triumphantly, a prisoner in their midst, until it dies of servitude and over-work." -- William McAdoo

It would probably work better with only 2 or 3 human players, I reckon it would work well on LAN.

Good question.

Empire, it's fair to say, presents an ideal more akin to paper, scissors, stone, tree, bird, apple and bucket.
Need more be said?
Gentlemen, brilliantly, can engage in duels to politely dispose of key members of opposing factions
In that case, consider them to have my full support.
