In the extended cultures mod there are 2 units hoplites and phalangites. Whats the difference? From what i can see the hoplites hold their spears/sarissa things above their heads

phalanxes are similar to vanilla phalanxes, hoplites are now the greek main forces and combine the bonus vs cavalry with agility now, hoplites dont hold any formation in battle and are more like regular infantry of other civs like swordmen or princeps

Also, if you're using the BI exe they can form the shield wall, a very useful defensive formation.
