So I sent out my faction heir's son, who was around the age of 17 with an army of around 550 men. He had no command and governing skills but had an influence of one. I believe his traits were along the line of useless accessor, odd and lazy. Figured I was going to shape him up and not let him be a lazy pretty boy lounging in the governors palace all day. Nor was I going to let him frolic around every night at the local orgy parties without ever putting on armour.
So I engaged him in battle and before the fight he gave his speech. It was the funniest speech I have heard so far...it was a real downtrotten speach..more like a depressing ramble that went along the lines of: "Well, I don't want to be here...but sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do and the army is over there and my mother made me come..." I couldn't stop laughing nor could I believe what I was hearing..I figured it was my mind playing tricks on me. I actually lost the battle as this kid was quick to flee when enemy was able to route my infantry (the first battle I lost in this campaign.) Now, I'm not sure what to do with this kid...giving a speech like that, ha, probably had my soldies glancing at each other from the side of their eyes.
A few turns later, I had trapped a Greece army (if you want to call it that since it literally depleted of soldiers.) It had 12 horseman, 30 archers and around 2 spearman. I quickly killed off the horseman and archers and set a group of Hasatii number around 15 men (15/80) since my cavarly were a bit far off chasing down horseman. I really didn't bother paying attention to the hasati as I figured they would quickly kill off the spearman and have them route. Instead, when I came back to look, there was one Greek spearman against 6 of my Hasatii. He fought, did not route, killed off one more of my soldiers before he finally died. So in total, two greek spearman killed off 10 of my soldiers. I am playing on VH battles but haven't seen anything that out of the picture before. Maybe it was Achilles (Ha, yeah, its been a slow day and I'm tired.)
