Just trying to find out where or if its possible to mod the length naval unit can move. I think the march distance of units is about right for 6 month turns, mebe even a tiny bit much, but the travel distance of units on naval transports is completely off. Its essentially same or only slightly more than possible to march on foot which does not make sense. It did not take 2 or 3 years for an army to move from Rome to Egypt in a navy transport.
So far this is the most annoying thing I've found with the game and takes much of the fun away from playing a naval power.

Yeah, it's not realistic. But then again, neither are 7 feet tall berserkers that can send 10 soldiers flying with a single swing.

Thanks... the link in there to the other forum was most suitable. I'd already figured the trick with chaining as that works in a few other games as well but the admirals egos do often get in the way not to mention a string of ships long enough often mean until later in the game there is often disruption by pirates. I'd almost be willing to accept the pirates as random storms etc which did frequently affect this era but I'd rather have longer movement ships and just make sure to house rule not build more than tiremes so pirates attacks sometimes still scatter my forces like a storm would.
