Thanks, that's what I wanted to know.
Strange that you can't split up units, though they let you merge them. Guess I'll have to get used to it.

Is there any way to check what version of M2TW I'm running? As mentioned above, I bought the game as a fairly recent budget release, so I assumed that it would be the latest version available at the time of release, but I'm not entirely convinced.
I've looked for the usual version number on the various startup screens, but haven't spotted anything.

This question was asked in post 22, but I believe it has since remain unanswered.
Q: Does MIITW carry over the ideas of Civil Wars or re-emerging factions, like in MITW? If so, are they implemented any differently?
A:?

You can get them by having a huge city and then build a Military Academy, and if you upgrade this Academy to the Royal Officers' Academy you can also get Gendarmes

This might be a newbie question but how do you reduce squalor? It is becoming hard to hold on to some of my larger cities and I have ALL of the public order buildings built and I cant keep supporting large garrisons.

To cantholdholyland:
you should build farms, town halls, and if it is possible the hospitaller, these are all things that reduce squalor i thought

Ty for your advise guys it helped. and BTW I have been playing as the french recently and it is a pain to try to hold on to the holy land with a strong army and try to defend your home from EVERYONE, at least it seems that way. I find taking the holy land to just be an economic nightmare. So i've just been waiting to take it when I have 30ish cities, AKA at the end of my game.

Is it just me or do my troops refuse to respond during battle. I select the infantry to attack but they JUST STAND THERE!!! Is it because I have a bad general or is he too far away?
BTW, can you make missile Calvary charge even if they have missiles left?

Welcome to the Forums Lonely Hermit. For your second question, yes you can make them charge if they still have ammo. You simply hold 'alt' i think (it may be ctrl, i dont pay attention when i do it) and click on your enemy. To make sure just hold alt first and hover the cursor over the enemy it should be a bow and arrow before you hold it but if it is letting you charge then it should turn to a sword. I know this explanation is a bit all over the place but i imagine someone will be along soon to decipher it and translate :S.

Thanks for the responses on the missile Calvary charges
It might also be that the units I was telling to charge were missile units and might have had some more missiles left ... and I did not know how to make them charge but now I do, Thanks

If they were Missle Units it was probably because they were in "Skirmish Mode". I don't suppose that there was an enemy unit near by/in the way?

It should automatically take them off skirmish mode if you hit alt+attack.
