This is a small mod that allows the Celts to form a horde in the BI campaign. It also adds a new province, in the area which is now known as Wales. The Celtic faction leader starts near to the settlement in this region, instead of Tara, which is now rebel owned.
The idea came from this thread. I decided to take a quick break from Britannia BC to make this.

Looks good. I have not had the chance to download it and look around, but one observation I can make is that if they horde from the start, they will have to settle right away because they will run out of cities to sack very quickly. As a horde they will not be able to create ships, and end up stuck in Britain. Maybe you could give them a ship to begin with (are the ones I see in the screenshots what they start with?), so they can horde and still get to the continent.

For once you are wrong, SubRosa! The Celts have horde ships, upon my suggestion. They allow them to travel to the mainland, and will disband upon settlement.

Horde ships? Now there is an interesting idea. So what happens if they are in the middle of a land-locked area, say at Vicus Franki or Campus Quaddi and then they horde? Where do the ships spawn?

Hi
Why haven't you changed the name of the 'city' of Dal Riada to the name of the capital, Dunadd, instead of the state? How comes Wales is Celtic, anyway? It would have been easier to add another province in Ireland, right? And why is Tara rebel-owned (that's what I really don't get - it was the capital of all the Celtic world for hundreds of years).
Well, you said it was a small break
A Celtic (whatever Celtic in this...you know...) horde isn't a bad idea, though, I'm glad it's been done. Although no new horde units (I assume) might make it seem a bit hollow. Any plans for this when Britannia BC is finished?

Where do the ships spawn?
Sadly, it was impossible to make ships spawnable, since they spawned in the general's stacks and therefore caused a CTD whenever a battle was fought.
I've just done some more testing, and found that the ships never disband, leaving the celts with a navy much bigger than any other small starting faction's. I may drop all the stats of the horde boats to make them little more than defenceless troop transports. Meaning that you would have to accompany them with other ships.
EDIT:
Any plans for this when Britannia BC is finished?
It was really just a bit of a one off idea, but I will probably make more changes to it, and possibly expand it more after Britannia BC is done. I will make more horde units for the Celts as well when I get round to it, or decide on another break from Britannia BC.

Because I didn't know that, I just went with vanilla BI on that one. I'll change it when I update other stuff, like those boats.
How comes Wales is Celtic, anyway?
It starts off as Rebel owned, but weren't there Celts (of a sort) in Wales anyway?

Adding another province in Ireland is a possibility for the future I suppose. And as for Tara being Rebel, that was Andalus' idea of a way to let the Celts be able to horde straight away. I could have removed Dal Raida, but that would have made the need for boats to horde properly even more serious.
If it was possible to add more factions, it would be more accurate because then I could split the Celts in BI into the two groups they represent.

Ah, right. Now it makes sense.
Yes, the Welsh were and are Celts (and the Celts actually 'native' to the British Isles - they got there before the Goidelic Celts, at least). But they were defeated by the Romans. If England is still occupied by the Romans, shouldn't Wales be?

I have been trying to play it, and I keep having a Kick Back To Menu when I try to start a new campaign. When I exit the game I receive the following error:
"Script Error in Bi\celtic_hordes/data/world/maps/campaign/barbarian_invasion /descr_regions.txt, at line 726, column 1. Couldn't find region name 'Wales' in stringtable"
So it looks like it is choking on the new territory. Out of curiousity, why did you put descr_regions in the campaign folder, rather than the base folder where it normally resides? I saw you did likewise with several other files as well.

Hmm... looks like I missed a file out of the upload. I'll fix that.

I treated it as if I was making a completely new map, just to be on the safe side.

Descr_Regions is there, and Wales is at line 721. So I think it is actually something else.
Quoted from Son Of The King:

You can still put all of the files in the Maps\Base folder. I have only seen people put map files in the campaign folder for a Provincial Campaign, because they did not want to alter the map of the original game. But since you are using mod:switch anyway that is not an issue.
I may drop all the stats of the horde boats to make them little more than defenceless troop transports. Meaning that you would have to accompany them with other ships.
Hmm.. That didn't work. They still act normally in an auto-resolve situation. Is there a way to make them far weaker in this situation?
This isn't the only change in the new version, I have added a provincial campaign, which is basically the same as the campaign used to be on the first release, so that the Celts can horde immediately. I have also added new unit cards for all the horde units.
I've done a bit more on this now, and will release an updated version later in the week. There is now a new unit, Gaelic Spearmen, which I added in as an excuse to make an AoR to check I could get them working properly...
