The_Ferret Hey Good Unit idea but could you give me clearer explaination of where each file goes please?

The folder path names in the mod file match the file names in your Rome:TW main directory(the folder the game installs itself to) to direct you as to where to put the files.DO NOT REPLACE FILES! Copy/Paste the text from the mod files into the file of the same name in your RTW main directory. Also if you have never installed any mods before two folders wont be there, these will be the textures folder, found inside of the models_units folder. And the ui folder found in the RTW/Data folder. If these files do not exist in your RTW directory then you just copy paste the whole folder from the mod file to the approiate location of you RTW directory....phweeew, I think that covers it...

Original and Generally a good idea

Additional Comments:
I am a fan of Troy and R:TW so thanks for throwing them together, accurate models too. More thrilling to fight as Macedon or Greece now thx

axegrinder hi there,

i've followed the instructions in the readme.txt and seemed straightforward enough, however since installing the unit the game now refuses to work! prehaps someone could help me, i'm not too good at this. i have the totalwar rome realism mod installed, could this be creating the problem?

Its possible, I havent looked at what the RTR mod does to your game files. Tell me at EXACTLY what point the game crashes and how it crashes(i.e. crash to desktop, freeze etc...)and I may be able to tell you which file you fouled up. If you copy/pasted the text then all I can think is you probaly miss spaced somthing, make sure the mod text is spaced like the existing text around it...um...if all else fails backup your save games and reinstall the game. And before you try to install the mod again back up any files before you alter them. I thought I put that in the Readme? well if I did not i should have.
axegrinder thanks for getting back, worked out what was going wrong, i just hashed up the cut/paste procedure (dum!) so all working fine now :)

Additional Comments:
The models were highly detailed and the skins were perfect. I loved the way the mermiodon held the sheilds behind their back when standing. Love playing Macedon or greece now, although they suit Macedon better (colours etc.) The detail in the swords with the carvings in them was the last straw, if I didn't praise this as heavily as I have I would honestly explode!

Critisisms.... Hmmmmmmmmm.... No sorry none.

nice dictator Umm can anyone tell me what I did wrong to install this? I'm not really good at this stuff.

I added the export units to the existing export units text in the text folder... added ui folder to the data folder.. and added the texture folder stuff to an alredy existing texture folder and added the .cas file to the units

If anyone can get back to me on this that would be great thanks

Lord Ahm I've replaced the 'export_units' file (have a backup), added the 'ui' folder in the data folder and added the 'textures' folder in the 'model_unit' folder. I think i have done everything right, but when i start as Macedon or The Greek Cities, the unit can't be produced. Do I have to wait until i have a better barracks to create a batalion of Myrmidon Soldiers?

(I watched the pics, looks great!)
The_Ferret NO! The names of the folder/ file in the zip is the directory you paste it to! The export_descr_building one is mor complicated, you paste it under any buildings, and all of the same type but bigger. i.e if you say governers villa can train them, you also need it under governers palace, pro-consuls palace and imperial palace. hope that clears it up?
