"The Caesar lolled on his ivory throne -
His iron legions came
To break a king in a land unknown,
And a race without a name."
The Song of Bran
What was the real reason why the Romans set a limit upon their imperial expansion and built a wall to keep out the marauding Picts of Caledonia?
This battle details the march of the ill-fated IX Roman Legion led by Marcus Sulius into Caledonia - not one man returned to tell the tale ...
As Bran Mak Morn, you have forged a fragile alliance of Pictish skirmishers (Head Hunters), Cymric Charioteers and Gaelic Cavalry and have laid an ambush for the arrogant and incautious Romans at the head of a valley. Even together, you are no match for the legions, but Gonar, your Chief Druid, has cast powerful magic to bring from across the mists of space and time a mysterious force to fight at your side. They are tough, seasoned infantymen wielding long cruel blades and have set up in a thin fighting wedge to block the head of the valley and invite the oncoming Roman column to engage.
You, yourself, lead a small guard of charioteers and stand with your Druids just behind the infantry wedge.
The Romans are almost upon you - kill them all!
Put the unzipped Missing_IX_Legion folder in the "../Rome-Total War/data/world/maps/battle/custom/" directory.
I have down load the Missing IX Legion, the only thing i have been able to do is check out your map and i love what i see. Hopefully this weekend i will have time to play it. Well done on the map.
Could you teach me how you made the map that well? You can contact me at email@example.com.
Realy nice work on the map!!

Excellent map! Now if only more of the maps in the campaign were designed like that...wow.
One thing though: it was too easy. Even fighting straight up a hill, my legions were always guaranteed a victory. The only unit that even stood in my way was the head hurlers, but even they were easily dispatched in prolonged melee combat with my general. Maybe try reducing the unit sizes, or giving the brits more units.
Other than that, excellent job!
