The battle of the River Weser, or Idistaviso, in 16 AD. Northern Germany. A punitive raid led by Germanicus against Arminius to avenge Teutoburg Forest.
I tried to make that battle as historical as possible.
The map was okay. The AI was a little screwy though. I moved my Cretan Archers to the back of my army, but they started doing their own little thing when the battle began. They started running though my lines, stopping in the middle of one of the Legionary cohorts, and in the middle of my general’s formation. Took me a while, but I finally got them to where I wanted them.
And it was a little easy. Give the Germans more experience, better weapons and armor, overall make them a tougher enemy. After all, these were the veterans of Teutoburg!
Overall, nice.

Night-Raider you are right, sometimes troops left in skirmish mode just wander aimlessly. It may look too easy if you play the Romans, but remember that the actual battle was a sweeping victory for them, and they achieved it with the auxiliaries and cavalry alone(actually heavy infantry), not even the pretorians or the reserve. I recommend you play on hard or very hard, it adds a lot of toughness to your enemies...Thanks again for your comments
