During the battle of Poitiers, also known as battle of Tours, on October 10, 732, the Franks under Charles Martel defeated an Islamic army led by Abd er Rahman, Emir of Cordoba, who was killed.
Viewed by many historians as a battle of macrohistorical importance, Tours (Poitiers) checked further Arab expansion in western Europe, and strengthened the Carolingian's domination of the continent. The heartland of the Frankish state, between the Seine and the Rhine, was becoming the new center of western society and the new seat of imperial power after Charlemagne coronation as Emperor, the first emperor in the West since 476.
i really enjoyed this battle becuase the berbers had a good amount of calvary. Evrything was great except that when i was playing as the berbers the Franks didnt form a formations they just made a head on attack.
