Rome: Total War |
I'd like to start off by saying that complete credit for the skin/model goes to Dark Fenri for his beautiful Thespian Hoplite model/skin; and cheers to him for letting me use it with this unit. :)
This is my 9th unit, I think. Their all downloadable in the modpacks section. ;)

The unit description:
"Of all the religiously fanatical soldiers who have ever lived, few have been highly disceplined, orderly and patient. This is what makes the infamous band of the Zeus’s Hoplites so dangerous. They were originally a Greek sect, but they were adopted and the tradition continued by the admiring Macedonians after they conquered Greece. Many if not most of them are recruited from Macedon's Greek provinces.\nThe Hoplites of Zeus are an above elite society of warriors, hand selected from the finest of the elite Hoplites all over Greece and Macedonia. These men are then dedicate their lives to the Greek god Zeus, and undergo very harsh training in the pantheons of their greatest God. Their equipment matches that of most hoplites, including a thrusting spear and a sword for close combat or for when the enemy has broken through the phalanx. If they have a weakness, it is their lack of armour and the inflexibility of their phalanx, which both in turn leave their flanks vulnerable. For this reason they are best deployed in the middle of a battle line, as it would be a shame to waist such men by losing them to flanking.\nThey are feared and respected for their fierce yet orderly ways of fighting-an almost unbreakable phalanx. The personal strength, courage, and skill means they tend to be the last ones standing on the battlefield. Still, perhaps their highest value lies in their extreme mental and physical toughness. They are seemingly unstoppable warriors who won't go down 'til every last drop of blood in their bodies has been spilled!"
