Rome: Total War 1.5 |
This mod puts the Dismounted praetorian Cavalry unit into your game. I reckoned that after the Marian reforms, the Romans no longer had a decent spear unit to defend the legion's flanks against heavy cavalry. These troops will do that.
Please comment on my readme more than anything, I think I need to re-do it, I did it in about ten mins, hardly a decent amount of time to make a decent readme. Experienced modders and people who have put mods in manually before will know how implement it, but the newbies may be stumped as to what to do, even with my readme, so be critical if you have to, and point out any spelling mistakes, even if it's just 'teh'. I like my work to have good spelling. ;)

Just where exactly should it appear? I don't see the training anywhere! I have RTW v 1.5[Edited on 02/16/07 @ 09:49 PM]

Did you put the line where I told you? Check your building browser ingame. |

Um, you didn't exactly say where to put it. All you said was "Just basically copy the text below into their appropriate files in C:\Program Files\Activision (Creative Assembly if you have RTW Gold)\Rome - Total War\data." What are the appropriate files? |

Each block of text is headered with a title:
descr_strat
export_descr_unit
export_units
They are all files in the data folder except the last one, which is in data/text. Hope this helps and I will review the readcme when I get back home to my own computer. |

It didn't actually work? What do you mean? Can't you train it on the campaign map?
Can you select it in custom battles? |

Nope. The game won't launch! Until I reinstalled.
By the way, where should it appear in custom battles? Since all of the squares are full.[Edited on 02/24/07 @ 10:02 PM]

You Reinstalled? Oh Christ, you really didn't need to do that. :( Put the mod in again, and right click on your game shortcut and go to properties. in the target line, after the path in speech marks, put one space and type -show_err
That will tell you what's wrong when the game crashes.
Make sure you patch to 1.5 though! ;)[Edited on 02/25/07 @ 04:27 AM]
