Two units out of five I made for all roman factions:
EtruscoServian Slinger - Was easy to make, basic model, strong, relyable. Fun little unit.
EtruscoServian Hoplite - A friend supplied the awsome skin he made for me to make this unit. Looks nice, good stats, more or less the "first" roman soldier. (Can form Phalanx, as historically noted.)
Good Pointers: Accurate descriptions, balanced stats. More or less these units are good for the front lines.
Notiable problems: No unit cards, they lack voices when u click on them, but they fight well niether the less. Also note, that historical units are ment to take on their historical look, so units will be clothed in red, not blue, green, or purple.
Easy README to follow, recommended that players have some experince in installing units before messing with this. Other modders have permission to use and improve these models, as long as credit is noted.
Rating: 3.5
The mod is functional however the lack of Unit Cards (which could easily have been made by recoloring the Armoured Hoplite and Slinger unit card red) and lack of faction colors makes these units stick out. Among ranks of Scipii legionaries the red of the EtruscoServian Hoplites sticks out and during the Roman Civil war it can get INCREDIBLY confusing when fighting the Julii. The Hoplite is just a simplistically recolored Armoured Hoplite: only the faction colors have been switched. The same goes for the slingers, although the red of their tunics are spot on with that of the Julii. Furthermore, it mentions that these units appeared in the 6th Century BC however Rome:Total War takes place in the 270BC meaning these units wouldnt have appeared in real-life at this time anyway.
Additional Comments: Download if you want to give the Romans extra flexibility as this adds a phalanx capable unit to the mix and some slingers as for historical value however...
