why is the Alexander forums so quiet i mean i know it isnt too popular and all but why hasnt anybody done a major mod i mean there are so many oppurtunities with the invinsible generals and all.

so i want to make a major mod and would like ideas.

all anarchsit groups in the world are oppossed to all sense of organisation and government...
and yet they all have leaders - holeymad

There are few mods that use the Alexander engine, but there aren't anyone I know of that just alter it.

If you want to make a mod the best place to start is simply stuff. Add a new unit or a building and as you go along new ideas will pop up in your mind.

ok thanks but i was thinking is it possible to add totally new factions to alexander (because i know you cant to BI or RTW) or what.... if you can could somebody tell me how.

BI has the same faction limit (21) as RTW, so I think that's it for Alexander as well, so there's plenty of room for new factions.

To add a faction you have to edit a lot of text files to give them buildings, units, a starting position and an entry in descr_sm_factions.txt. Our Modding Tutorials will tell you what to do.

I'll advice you to look at the Lord of the Rings Total War mod, for the Alexander engine. They managed to use it, and use all the factions. Besides that, they probably know a lot about modding with that engine, so you might be able to get some tips from them.

You can't say that civilization don't advance, however, for in every war they kill you in a new way.

Chauvinism is not a particularly nice trait at the best of times but can be suicidal when the person your talking too can have you executed on a whim.

Hey Men,

There's a Alex mod at the Total War Center.Megos Alexandros iis the name.Its an open beta right now but they're moving along pretty good.If you have AlexTW ,the Lord of the rings is a must!
