From there you can build ports and nice roads and market type things. Lots of good cities is the key to victory.

as the brutii i made an alliance with macedon then attacked greece. macedon then attacked me which i already had the feeling it was going to do as it was obvious where i was gona go next they were just being pro-active i spose. i had hired some hoplite mercenaries and had about 4 units spread across 2 armies. i crushed an army outside larissa and one in the mountain pass by appolonia and from then i literally walked into macedonia taking thessalonica and bylazora i think it was called and losing a total of 60 men between the two i couldnt believe that in one turn i had totally crushed and crippled macedon. did anyone else get this? i mean i was on hard and they threw all their lancers (and lets face it thats like 70% of their army) straight at my hoplite centre i killed about 1500 men in all and lost next to nothing. such stupidity was never rivalled again throughout my campaign.

You crushed them outside larissa, using sarissas. ( yes I know that hoplites didn't have the big sarissas, but poetic licence.
