Block the bridge to the west of Sinope to prevent Armenia from attacking you. Alliances/Trade rights with everyone. Sell map info to distant factions. Load your staring army and take Nikomedia, Ancyra. From there take Halicarnassus.
Now depending on the situation either Pergamum or Sardis. If you have enough money, create a second army to guard your pocessions and take Rhodes and Crete. Basically take Asia Minor, Rhodes and Crete, before the Egyptians finish off the Seleukids. Keep an eye on them and on Armenia.
Once the Egyptians attack you - land an army on Cyprus and take Salamis. That is an easy target and quite rich. From there land at Antioch or if you have a powerfull navy sail for Alexandria. Take it, retrain your troops. Create a garrison of spearmen/phalanxes and go for Memphis, etc...
Units - early on - Eastern Infanrty and Pontic Light Cavalry. Do not bother with Hillmen - they are useless. Try to get Heavy Pontic Cavalry and Pikemen ASAP. Use your infantry as a bait against phalanxes, while your Heavy Pontics turn their flanks and hit them in the rear. Use Cretans and Balearic slingers to deal with the Egyptian Chariots.
Later on - Cappadocians, Heavy Pontic Cavalry and Bronze Shields/Pontic Pikemen. The Scythed Chariots are very powerfull, but can run amok easily.
