I have been looking at as many posts as I can wanting to know how the various empire stack in multiplay. I know Rome does well and is one of the best(correct?), but how does Germania do in multiplay?
Would a joint Romen/German team do well?

The Germans are more suited to forested maps, which are rarely played, I've seen. THey don't do so well on open-ground maps. (Learned that the hard way)

Rome is rediculous. Their infantry can take everyone's infantry to hell, and their cavalry are unfairly cost effective. The description for Roman faction says: "Legionary Infantry, and good auxiliaries, but limited cavalry". I can't seem to figure out how the same faction can be described as having limited cavalry and be able to recruit Praetorian cavalry in the same breath. Basically a Roman team is amazing. Another good team I find to be a Carthaginian/Seleucid duo. Their elephants'll send enemy lines into utter confusion, while their heavy infantry hold the enemy lines long enough to get your cheap yet effective support units around and crush the enemy. Roman alliances are often extremely tough opponents though.
