They came with a seige tower, 3 ladder groups and a ram. Because of my good walls they took many casualties just deploying, but not nearly enough. The ram broke my gate but I believe the oil kept them from charging a phalanx through as it would be decimated. The fighting on the walls was bitter and at the end of it 1300 Greeks were killed but I had only 3 routed troops determined to fight to the death.
The Greek took the Gatehouse and marched on my city center, leaving behind the 3 brave roman hastati. They reached the center in victory BUT because they did not deal with the 3 soldiers they did not win, the game became a race against time to see if they could hold the center for long enough. Having no control of my troops I had to wait. With 20 seconds remaining on the greek counter time ran out and my 3 men defeated 200 greeks.
An odd way to win but a victory all the same. If you attack a city do not let this happen to you, if you are under siege it may just help to have a very few men tucked away in an obscure corner of the map. The City is mine and the greeks must be kicking themselves.
