A couple turns ago I assumed the Throne of Spain, although I'm now just starting my write-up thread.
I will likely eventually include pictures but until I figure it out I'll just write it out and see how my audience responds to this format. Who knows, that might become my signature thing.. =D

Turn 78: Having recently assumed the throne of Spain a couple turns ago, I've made made grand sweeping changes to the nation's direction.
I immediately recognized the value of my alliance with Sicily, and made sure to make this clear to them. Divided we would both easily be overwhelmed.
I immediately recognized Spain's strategic predicament. With a large chunk of my military halfway across the map and separated by another human player, I was not in a good position in any sense. I did have powerful colonies, yet they would be difficult to defend. Interested in a continuous empire, I traded my colonies to my loyal ally, Sicily, in return for an African city nearest me.
I'm well aware the deal was unfortunately lopsided to Sicily's favor, yet I obtained my goal of having all my territory adjacent to Spain.
I quickly turned my nation's current economic/policy decisions upside down. The former king had several, seemingly random buildings cued for construction which ate up a large chunk of my budget. I allowed my capital to be converted into a city, though slightly reluctantly do its excellent ability to pump out knights.
I also recognized the reduced need for a navy and commenced disbanding a portion of it.
I also canceled all training orders for non-knight units. I feel my best option is to opt for an all-knight army and only use limited numbers of regular troops for garrison duty. I also set about to getting a governor in all my cities to maximize profit. Although sluggish, several very high quality knight armies could prove a fearsome tool if I maneuver them correctly, even against much larger nations.
As well, I set about to building mostly mines, and upgrading all upgradeable cities. As well as some other various buildings.
In what I consider one of my more intelligent moves, I've signed a peace treaty with Turkey, in return for 5500 (money) a turn for 12 turns which frees me up. However this concerns me as Sicily will now come under a lot of pressure attempting to stave off Turkey by themselves. If things get too bad I may have to rethink my peace treaty with Turkey.
I can't afford to have Sicily overrun for then I'd soon become mince meat for my neighbors.
I'm also quite annoyed at England's arrogant decision to let their allies, me and Sicily, fight Turkey by ourselves, allowing themselves to eat up all of eastern europe in a splendidly selfish move.
I haven't made diplomatic contact with England yet, which may be a significant error on my behalf, though I will soon. England, for no apparent reason, has requested map info for map info without a message of any sort connected. Naturally I won't accept this, though I hope this does not place me at odds with England.
As well, I've gotten a bit more skilled with managing my agents, and have set them to work. I do however seem to have an unnecessarily large number of priests/diplomats. With nearly all of Europe at 100 percent Catholicism the priests aren't quite that necessary.
