Motherboard CPU RAM Hard drive Disk drive Power supply case
Those are the essential components, if you want more of a pc built for gaming, you'll need to buy a graphics card, and a sound card.

For old time's sake.
You can't say that civilization don't advance, however, for in every war they kill you in a new way.
Chauvinism is not a particularly nice trait at the best of times but can be suicidal when the person your talking too can have you executed on a whim.
Okay, I am not very good with computers and I have no clue whatsoever if I will be able to play Empire (though I fear I won't be), so I'll post the specs of my pc here.
2 GB RAM AMD Turion 2.0 GHz Nvidia Geforce 8400M G Enough space on my hard drive
anything else you need to know? Any help greatly appreciated.

enough space on your hard drive doesn't sound too good.
I feel the same way I did after playing Stronghold 2 for about 15 minutes, like it was my birthday and all my friends had wheeled a giant birthday cake into the room, and I was filled with hopes dreams and desires when suddenly out of the cake pops out not a beautiful buxom maid, but a cranky old hobo that just shanks me then takes $60 dollars out of my pocket and walks away saying "deal, with it".

How does it sound bad? I'm guessing he means a decent amount of space left that will definately hold it.

What's bad about it Stormer? As Ischenous said the hard drive space will certainly not be the problem.
What about the rest though? Do you think my pc can handle it?

No, sorry, you won't be able to run ETW with that. You need at least a 2.4 GHz processor while you only have a 2.0 one. You also have a graphics card designed for notebooks, which usually don't do very well in games.

The ram is ok, I imagine that the 8400 will barely cut the butter.

Thing with the 2.0 GHz is that I somewhere read that on minimum requirements 2.0 should work too? Is that true?

Your cpu barely goes over the minimum, and ram. You will need to upgrade your graphic card as well, what kind of 8800? If you are looking at 8800's, choose a GTS/GTX.
