INDEX of Technical Issues & Help . . . . . . . . . Go to: INDEX of RTW Discussion/Strategy
(rev. 0.208, 15jan2006)
  • Hint: use your browser's search/find function to locate relevant posts...
  • OVERVIEW
This thread will serve as a basic index, or guide, of common issues, solutions, information, etc., for Rome: Total War (RTW). Questions and answers often exist, but can be difficult to find, esp. since RH does not have a full text search option. Posts will be linked by thread, or by direct link to a deeply buried post.

    NOTES
    1. Tip: use your browser's search/find function to locate relevant posts.
    2. This Index will be updated, and will continue to be expanded, refined & tweaked.
    3. If you know of a good tech-related post or thread (even if it is another Forum), nominate by posting it in this thread with its link.
    4. Reference the first applicable post # , if buried in longer threads.
    5. Discuss individual thread topics within the respective thread.
    6. Report errors, bad links, etc. of existing Index content by posting in this thread.
    7. When you create a new thread, remember the Title is important in future searches for it.
    8. In square brackets [ ] on this page, I sometimes will insert search keywords to help locate that topic accurately.
    9. Do not be bashful about suggesting your own posts; the object is to provide locatable, useful info.
    10. The age of the post does not matter; however, things talking about outdated issues (like a Patch 1.1-related stuff, for example) are not what we're trying to index.
    11. Certain word combinations may seem strange; in places, things are done to help search engines crawl this thread and return external site results.

**** Temporary Note: This index is being created for thenext week or two; it is 'under construction', and does contain erratum. In particular, many links are incomplete, broken, or non-existent, so don't post about that stuff until the revision number reads 1.xxx and this note is removed! Feel free to post links to good posts, or make suggetions. ****

If anyone (esp. those with long-time memory of technical postings) comes across or finds useful threads (and especially good posts buried within threads!) from any forum (some threads are basically mis-placed), make a post here with the link, and we'll update the Index post.

You would think 2 years later they wouldn't have this problem any more, I'm a fan of Total War MII:TW is my favorite Total war game. Anyways I got the 3105 error missing voice3 I sent an email to activision, they were no help, then I saw this, I deleted the file in install shield and suddenly I didn't have the problem. So Thank you.

P.S sorry for posting in a 2 year inactive topic. Thought you would like to know you helped

Try re-starting the game. That will help if it's a one-time bug. Also close down any other programs before you start the game to ensure it has all the system resources it needs.

If the glitches persist, make sure your graphics card's drivers are up to date (you can find them on the manufacturers website). If that doesn't help, try re-installing the game.

Surprisingly, this didn't have what I needed. I go to install and I get about 5 minutes in. then this comes up

    Feature Transfer error
    Feature: New DirectX (9.0c) 1
    Componet:
    File:
Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

    No idea what that means.
