I havent actually played any XGM,or XGM-EC,or any mod of rtw, but I am a avid republic of rome fan and thought you could have like a provincial roman campaign, with one starting settlement, lots of barbarians, etc etc,and you have a consul (subject to change due to elections) and some legates, and you conquer a bunch of provinces, and the senate gives you money for conquering and killing.you could expand from here yourself.you could call it the consular campiagn(sorry if you've already put this in)

Edit:I just downloaded it.I notice that you haven't made any Roman provincial campaigns.Oh well,at least I can kill them(and their fancy new skins)

I do hope to create a mid-republic era Roman provincial campaign at some point; the only thing is that it would be a whole new campaign basically, which takes a lot of work just to set up.
Unfortunately, as great as the idea of having a consul and legate sounds, that is something that cannot be done in RTW easily if at all.

The mod for that is The First truimvirate.

I feel the same way I did after playing Stronghold 2 for about 15 minutes, like it was my birthday and all my friends had wheeled a giant birthday cake into the room, and I was filled with hopes dreams and desires when suddenly out of the cake pops out not a beautiful buxom maid, but a cranky old hobo that just shanks me then takes $60 dollars out of my pocket and walks away saying "deal, with it".

Hello

I was just reading a AAR and i thought it would be a good idea if you had a City State campain. This would mean that there were no empires or coalations of different cities. Like you could have an Italy one where it is just Rome against Caupa or Tarentum against Corinth or some thing like that.
But it is your mod and not mine.

Thank you for your time

I don't have any plans for such a type of provincial campaign. Really, that would require another mod entirely, with different factions.

Request:
Hi I have tried this mod and I think the textures look great and really accurate, but could you please make a modpack for the original rome total war using the Roman legionary textures because they look awesome

P.S i would change the RTW legionary textures myself, but I keep stuffing it up and the game crashes

The Roman units are from another modder called ferres. If you search "ferres modding Romans" you should find his thread at TWCenter which will have instructions to add his models to vanilla.

How can I edit the hoplites to use their spears underhanded? I've tried changing the shield wall to a phalanx and changing the weapon types but It stays overhand.

Does it have something to do with the skeletons? I havn't tried editing those yet.

Or could you send me a version of Xgm that has hoplites using underhand?

I think they look better regardless of the historical inaccuracies.

I believe it has to do with the skeletons. Try using fs_spearman instead of fs_s1_hoplite.
