Spartacus: Total War, is a modification for RTW 1.5 and, in the future, for BI.
It uses the mod:switch option, wich means that it wont interfere with your original game files, but also that you have to install it on a clean copy of the game.
Spartacus: Total War will be focused on the gladiator revolt lead by Spartacus on 73 BC, and at the same time, the various events taking place at that time. In order to do that, various new factions will be added replacing those who are anachronic. Here are the new factions:
(hint; if you click on the faction symbols, it will re-direct you to the available factions preview)
The Gladiators
The Republic of Rome
The Roman Rebels
The Eastern Provinces
The Celts
The Kingdom of Bithynia and Pergamum
Mauritania
The Sarmatians
The Roxolani
The Gladiators will have a completely new culture, new traits, units, general portraits, and everything else such a peculiar faction as needs.
The map has been changed. Many territories have been added, and there will be more additions in the future, to compensate the lack of cities in some places, like Africa, for instance, thus allowing the factions there the possibility to have both the economic means and the infrastructures to raise armies that can be a threat to more powerfull enemies.
Also, some while not changing the regions per se, some cities have been replaced and relocated.
The mercenary forces will have units that you can rely on to hold and win a battle, instead of being just fodder. Especially in regions where there was no "absolute power" established, or where subjugated people were still fighting for their lands.
There will also be much more variety of mercenary choices.
Many of the vanilla units will be replaced by new ones to reflect the warfare and/or political changes.
The available temples and respective gods for some factions will be changed.
The mod will have in mind historical accuracy, although, if I have to sacrifice it a bit for the sake of game playing, I will. This is supposed to be fun, not an history lesson. Don't worry, you wont be seeing any major anachronisms.
