So we know that the battle of Teutoburger Wald will be one of the historical battles in Rome II Total War. But what of the other historical battles of which in the first RTW there were twelve. Will it be the same battles in RTW or different and if so different what battles will it be?
Here are my five picks of which I hope CA include:
Battle of Tunis 255 BCE - One of the first battles in the First Punic War where consul Regulus' foray into Africa was met with disaster when his army was destroyed and himself captured.
Battle of Arausio October 6th 105BCE - Losses as bad if not worse as Cannae.
Battle of Illipa 206 BCE - in my view Scipio Africanus best victory due to his military maneuvering of his units to bamboozle the Carthaginians before a sword was thrust or spear thrown in anger.
Battle of Magnesia 190 BCE- the last gasp of the Seleucid Empire as they fell to the Romans.
Battle of The Siler River 71 BCE- The battle where Spartacus' army bravely fell against several Roman legions to end the Third Servile War (known as the War Of Spartacus) that so troubled the Roman Republic. Playing as Spartacus' army to repel many Roman armies sounds fun!
So what are your picks for R2TW's historical battles?
General Rawlinson- This is most unsatisfactory. Where are the Sherwood Foresters? Where are the East Lancashires on the right?
Brigadier-General Oxley- They are lying out in No Man's Land, sir. And most of them will never stand again.
Two high ranking British generals discussing the fortunes of two regiments after the disastrous attack at Aubers Ridge on the 9th May 1915.
