The title speaks for itself. I'm personally still undecided between the Eastern Roman Empire and the Sassanid Empire. I'm leaning more towards the Sassanids since I wanted to write a War Story/HSR about them to post in the Bardic Circle. I also want to play a Western Roman Empire campaign too, but I think that will be a bit overwhelming for a first playthrough.

Which faction(s) is everyone else looking forward to playing?

A Barbarian faction would be fun to play. But that being said, i think i will enjoy a Western Roman Empire campaign due to my love of fixing and reforming broken empires.

I am probably going for a Saxon campaign... Saxons were my favourite factions in BI and I wish to see how the new game depicts them...

My ancient blood demands it.

I also want to play a campaign with one of the nomadic factions and explore the whole Horde system in detail. I think playing a campaign where you're always on the move and not tied down by cities would be fun and a nice change of pace.

I am kinda hoping that the huns are not over-powered like most main factions are when a game is named after them.
Also, i think it would be cool to reunite the Roman Empire from the West.

Same, but at least CA have given them a handicap in that they can't settle down so they're stuck being a horde.

Reuniting the Roman Empire is definitely one of my top campaign goals. The other is helping the Sassanids reclaim all the old territories of the Achaemenid Persian Empire

What are the campaign goals of the Hordes then?

What about a separatist Roman Britain? That would be a good game to play.

Actually I played such a campaign in BI, a long time ago, AE. It was interesting indeed...

I was referring to the Huns when I said they're stuck being a Horde and can't settle down For the other Migratory/horde factions like the Ostrogoths, I think their ultimate goal is to find a fertile new homeland and settle down, though I'm fairly confident CA has alternate campaign goals for them where they can just ride around burning and pillaging until they hit the winning mark.

I like the look of any of several of the proto-Norse factions. It's a bit like a Beowulf Total War expansion. That said I am not sure I am going to buy it cos I kinda think the whole thing should be DLC for Rome II...

It would be fantastic if they could implement several of Attila's features in Rome 2, but I don't think its technically possible Hopefully some brave modders will create a mod that will wind the clock back a bit to the Ancient World, or a little bit forward to the Dark Ages

When I eventually buy the game I think I will probably try out one of the Horde nations first since they look like they should offer a rather different experience to your average Total War campaign. Afterwards, trying to hold the Western Roman Empire together on Legendary sounds like a fun challenge.
