We’re looking for some good strategy submissions for the strategy section.

Submission drafts should be sent in format that allows for some formatting, such as Word. Include the title of your strategy, your name, and your e-mail address at the top of your draft. Please check your spelling and overall structure before you send your draft – a few errors are to be expected, but please take some time to look it over before you send it in.

If you are going to depict something, such as a set-up for an army at the start of a match, it is usually much easier on the reader to have a screenshot instead of a character code. Please send screenshots as attached jpg files individually, numbered from one up, and include in your draft where you want them inserted. (For example, [Screenshot1here])

While there is not a length limit imposed on any strategies we accept, please understand that we are looking for thoroughly thought-out ideas that have been played and tested prior to having been submitted to us. A couple of paragraphs usually is not long enough to discuss a strategy in-depth. A couple of screenshots makes a great accompanying visual aid for describing strategies.

If you are submitting a Multiplayer Strategy, please remember to include the denarii cost of your army as well as listing your build. Having a single screenshot of your army during the army selection phase, showing your army build, any upgrades, and the total cost is a great visual aid.

Email submissions to Hussarknight.

1.Basically the best strategy, when you play with a "civilised" faction (for the barbarian factions it's a bit different, but it will work just as well), is to conquer regions along the coast(especially Greece). The AI won't attack you from the sea that much, especially if you have a couple of fleets to keep them busy, they make a lot of cash (sea trade) and can be reached easier, than the settlements in upper Gaul, the germanic forests, or the eastern steppes, which also make less money overall. On top of which, the factions in these regions are phalanx-based, which are pretty easy to crush if you have mobile or ranged troops.
2.If you make good use of spies and assasins, you don't even have to get to fight the civil war. Only the Senate, can survive without family members, and as long as they are killed you don't get that message with the "Faction leader must kill himself". The agents cost far less than an army.
3. To mak sure the other roman factions are not too strong, you must conquer their neighboring regions before they do, and they will just stay in their cities without doing any more conquering. It's true, this smeans fighting, on three fronts as the regions in question either belong, or are near the Gauls,Carthage or Greek Cities, but it's better to close the romans in, because once they get more than 5 regions, you'll have to go through a lot to take them out.
