When using siege towers can you get any other units to go up them other than the actual unit that controlled the tower ?
When you have reached the walls should you have your troops go to every turret on the wall to clear out all the archers that kill your men once they are inside the walls ?

You can send as many units up the tower as you want but they are so slooooow at getting up the thing it is sometimes not worth the effort.

Usually I send a unit of powerful infantry up two seige towers. One either side of the gate (and I chose the gate with as few towers next to it as possible). The first unit to the walls will draw enemy fire and the other unit hits the rear.

Capture the gatehouse and then any towers on route to the centre of the city.

Just move your army through the gates and to the centre - once that falls the enemies in the towers run!

Also, if the road to the city square has a few towers on its route, it's a good idea to send a unit to capture some of the towers adjacent to the street so that you suffer less casualties getting to the square.

hmm, for me, even after a unit went up the seige tower, I can't send another up there. there's a red arrow...

Just select ur unit and order them up ontop of the walls. If the gate and such is still closed they will go up the seige towers/ladders themselves. It took me a while to figure this out too

I usually send my second wave to the bottom of the tower and then set theri destination to the top of the wall - works for me.

Also you can't send armies on top of walls. You have to click single unit cards and click the wall and repeat. Same thing applies once on top of walls, you can't tell all units on the wall to attack the enemy, just individual unit cards.

I am having trouble getting the men to use the ladders, I have guys holding the ladders but I waste so much time trying to get them to use the ladder that the main gate gets bashed in before I figure it out. As for the siege towers I will give that A try thanks for the info.
