Hey guys I'm about 40 turns into my new campaign as Cathage with the Mundus Magnus mod

Anyway i was just wondering (since iv never actaully stuck with Carthage so long) what are the best infantry that they have that can stand up to the Romans pre Marian troops?

I know my cav can destroy theirs but cav cant take a city plus it isnt that fun with just full cav armys

Never played MM, but I assume the basics would be the same.

Starve out the cities, destroy anything that comes out of it, or attacks you in the field. Then your cavalry will be of major help in battle. Plus I am guessing that you have a decent army at hands, and that you could win against one and a half stacks with your stack (which I am going to assume has 20 units in it). So any battle you must face and fight yourself you should win, and hopefully take the city in their flight.

Carthage's best infantry is Sacred Band Infantry. Poeni infantry is pretty good too. Libyan Spearmen is better than nothing, and you should just use the Iberians as cannon fodder. Just make sure you wipe out the Roman economy before they get Marian reforms.

All MM does it add to the map, correct?

Mundus Magnus. I have never played it, so I assumed it added stuff to the game. But all it does is add a new map right?

Nevermind, shall find the answer from this damned electronic box and something called 'google'....

So it is a new map with some minor tweaks. Yes, starve them out, or use Sacred Band/Poeni infantry and fight in the streets. I prefer field battles, as I love cavalry too much not to use them

Hey guys

Yes MM only gives you a new map with some minor tweaks but the overall game is the same .

Well at the moment i hold all of Spain, Sicily, Corsica, Sardina, all of Carthages starting holdings in Africa plus i took Corton? from the Scippi. Most of my holding can make Iberian inf and those cities near Italy can make Libyan inf only Carthage itself can make Sacred Band so they havnt had time to bloddy themselves in battle. But yea il have to destroy the Romans soon or il lose.

Thanks guys Il starve them out from now on untill they sally and hopefully il be able to win
