Hotseat game status: - Sicily has won on turn 115

Players (in turn order): (with links to write-ups) plus some other links where I consider it to be funny

Selifator: England
Kilij Ae Varyl: Spain

Venice - FACTION DESTROYED

Me Sicily

EoJ: Turks
I think I might have referenced this video before in the first crusade
This might be more appropriate... Looks like I was right there

Rankings - Turn 101

Rankings - Turn 69

Subs
Glacier_Girl played as sub for England - T29, T30
- played as sub for Sicily - T33

Monty501 played as sub for Spain T30, T 31
JuBuOrangie played as sub for Venice - T31 to T40
Lloydsgamble played as sub for Venice T41 to 42
Brutiangodofrock played as sub for Venice T43 to T65
Zsmart one played as sub for Turks T50 to T65
Hashoosh played as sub for Turks T64

Rules to note:

No 'exploiting' of any kind (e.g. putting forts on resources and stocking them with merchants) nor reloading your go to get a better result.

If I don't hear from a player within 4 days of receiving a turn, I will try to find a sub to take the turn.

If you don't expect to be able to play within 4 days, just let me know - extensions are fine (preferably not too often though please). I'll send a reminder email after a couple of days as a prompt.

If you expect an extended absence, e.g. not being able to play for over a week, you're invited to arrange a sub, giving them instructions etc so your turn is played as you'd like it to be.

An 'un-arranged' sub has the option to take over after 2 weeks or 10 turns The '2 weeks' here looks a little low, but the turn limit looks high?

hello.

I just found these forums and registered straight away. This hotseat-thing you people have played seems really fun, but I don't think you do it much anymore? well, at least this subforum seems pretty dead. does anyone still play hotseat campaigns?

well, it seems you have one game going, though going pretty slow.

well there was a few but el banito is missing in action and no one can find his password & E died for unknown causes the kingdoms one i had going start right as ETW got started so glacier girl had the save and it disappeared

so in a way it is sort of dead

However that exact thing happened to me too so i kno how you feel.
If you want to play one just say so I have been wanting to get another going but keep forgeting to post it as long as we can get 4 or 5 people it will be fine

I was quite miffed when hotseatB died - we had interest still and just lost one key player. I suppose it reinforces how important it is to get the administration right (for hotseat A (the only one I started) I didn't set an administrator - that I think is a must so you can reset passwords and turn control of factions over to the AI - so long as more than one person holds the admin details incase the admin vanishes)

Interest in M2TW in general may have waned a bit, particularly with Empires and Napoleon coming out. It's a shame as it's a good game and still has potential - particularly with the hotseats (imho).

Yes, it has taken over somewhat. But rest assured, gentlemen, I will be here.

Except for two weeks in the summer, where I'll actually be in Tanzania. But hey

I also am not going anywhere. Infact i would very much like to start a new Hotseat but i can't be assured there would be sufficient interest to make it worth it, unlike previously when a new Hotseat started with the week .

Turn 54 passed on to the Turks.

Who says we're moving slowly? That last round seemed to average at about 2 days each (if I counted correctly) - almost speedy...

Almost

I'll be off for about 6 days on Wednesday, if the planes can fly by then, so might technically hold things up for a couple of days, but not long, if at all, I guess.

We have just reached the point that is slow turns take longer to do so you have to find 20-30 minutes in your day to do it compared to earlier when a turn could take 5 minutes since we all had like 10 cities.
like for me it takes a good 20 minutes to check all of my cities (I never use Auto build) Also, there is the whole no wars going on event so there is nothing to look foward for in a turn.

I'm not European so I'm just wondering is it noticable the smoke and crap from the volcano.

will play today or monday

Varied. Scotland has ash-fall in places, Bedfordshire has had three days of cloudless skies.

I used to take ages to do turns because I'd try and write messages in game etc; and then I'd write up my Sicily log - but since noone ever read it I've fairly much parked that for now. It's a shame but it makes it a lot quicker to do turns.

Hmm, I should probably update the ranking scrolls for turn 53 given we're at the end of turn 54. Tum tee tum

I am pleased to announce the first Huge City in the Western World, and one of only 2(?) in existence.

Only makes 2500 at the moment, mind, but in time it should be lovely.

I've received the turn from Venice and have sent it on - hopefully we can get the next turn passed around reasonably quickly.

Rankings will be updated very shortly. The treaty of Zargreb has been agreed - how long will peace in the region last I wonder. I have a feeling that I'll be lucky to keep any generals alive in a flood of agents...

but for me it seems a bit quiet now that sicily and venice are not sencelessly killing each other anymore. also anyone have any guesses on when the monguls are going to F**k up my back country?

That says about 10 turns - I can't remember when the black death hits, is that before or after the Mongols?

It'll be interesting to see how you handle the Mongols, I expect that you should be ok - even if they cause you trouble you're leading by quite a way so taking a bit of damage wouldn't stop you having a good chance of flattening everyone else.

the black death hits quite a bit later (after 100 turns i think) and i cant imagine why you dont want to unify into one might mediterian empire under the turks

p.s (join my new start up hotseat)

Agents? You have agents near my cities?

I..er.. i mean.. I have them too. Lots. You can't hide from me! .

I wasn't planning on Cold War, i was planning on trusting Swampy. But now i know about all these agents it might not hurt to build some garrisons. You know, as soon as my deficit disappears.

And as much as i want to be an Emo, by taking Venice and Viennice my wrists are pretty much already slashed =/. How about FYE?

Now we know about your deficit, let's take your cities to make it even worse!

Seriously, though, those templars won't pay for themselves. I'm also slightly jealous that Swampy gets the chapter house.

the problem with FYE is that I have no problems with england except that they are hating on my ally I guess

Well i assumed you could both read the Rankings and speak to your Ally Swampy who regularly mentions it. Perhaps this alliance isn't not as solid as it seems if you aren't sharing information?

And i don't expect the Templars to pay for themselves, i expect Swampy's (and maybe yours) to pay for them.

How about FYEWOB?

sad thing is that is probably what the diplomats did at the first meeting of NATO firgured out what to do with the treaty then spent the rest of the time thinking of a cool acronym for the treaty
