Hotseat game status: - Sicily has won on turn 115

Players (in turn order): (with links to write-ups) plus some other links where I consider it to be funny

Selifator: England
Kilij Ae Varyl: Spain

Venice - FACTION DESTROYED

Me Sicily

EoJ: Turks
I think I might have referenced this video before in the first crusade
This might be more appropriate... Looks like I was right there

Rankings - Turn 101

Rankings - Turn 69

Subs
Glacier_Girl played as sub for England - T29, T30
- played as sub for Sicily - T33

Monty501 played as sub for Spain T30, T 31
JuBuOrangie played as sub for Venice - T31 to T40
Lloydsgamble played as sub for Venice T41 to 42
Brutiangodofrock played as sub for Venice T43 to T65
Zsmart one played as sub for Turks T50 to T65
Hashoosh played as sub for Turks T64

Rules to note:

No 'exploiting' of any kind (e.g. putting forts on resources and stocking them with merchants) nor reloading your go to get a better result.

If I don't hear from a player within 4 days of receiving a turn, I will try to find a sub to take the turn.

If you don't expect to be able to play within 4 days, just let me know - extensions are fine (preferably not too often though please). I'll send a reminder email after a couple of days as a prompt.

If you expect an extended absence, e.g. not being able to play for over a week, you're invited to arrange a sub, giving them instructions etc so your turn is played as you'd like it to be.

An 'un-arranged' sub has the option to take over after 2 weeks or 10 turns The '2 weeks' here looks a little low, but the turn limit looks high?

Turn 43 sent to Selfy. Bring it!

Swampy, just to annoy you, I've made a strategic and logistical plan that will require 3 months to be completed. A small plan, I know, but hopefully enough to tick Swampy off.

You can't say that civilization don't advance, however, for in every war they kill you in a new way.

Chauvinism is not a particularly nice trait at the best of times but can be suicidal when the person your talking too can have you executed on a whim.

Facebook, anyone?

I'd say that's enough to confuse but a touch short of annoying. Either you're saying you're moving house or something similar and we'll have to find a sub, or you're attacking Venice in the game and have chosen to come second after the Turks. Or something utterly different.
Any chance of more detail?

On another front, I believe that Jubuorangie and Lloydsgamble will be acting jointly for Venice from here on - when sending saves to them please copy both players in and we'll let them sort out how who will play etc.

Funny. Here I was, expecting the worst; like 10 stacks of Crusaders on their way to overrun my Balkans but so far all is quiet on the Western Front. Only Swampy made half-hearted attempts so far. What is taking so long!?

The Venetians told me there were at least 3 Crusading stacks in his lands; I guess he was only trying to intimidate me. England probably decided to turn back I guess--wise choice.

You might very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment

Aww cmon, tell me something. It gets lonely when everyone else is attacking you. No one talks to me anymore.

Yeah, sorry, that was my idea. For security reasons, of course (Venice, shush from now on if you want us to help you)

poor Bandito. Its World War 2 all over again (without all the murders) and your Hitler Germany. Big, killed little people, and now your about to get owned by a bunch of big guys you shouldve thought twice to mess with. :P

Hmm, not even an idle boast? There won't be much fun if your soldiers die silently, infidels. (Spain excluded since I think EoJ learned the futility of further attacks)

Honestly, you guys should have just focused on your economy instead of this...waste of effort.

Which hot-seat have you been reading? Only guy I defeated badly was someone stronger than me at the time, and I am damn proud of kicking that traitorous bugger's behind.

I would like to think of myself as Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Big guys here are England and Venice; Sicily and Spain are so so. Well, Mustafa had beaten the Armenians, the French and the Greeks alone so I can't afford to do less.

who am I kidding, hitler lost, napoleon lost, confederacy lost, spartans lost...not very inspiring

You got me- I'm secretly hoping everyone will waste their soldiers against you and so I can strike from behind.

The perfect plan- if I had any army, that is...

Aha! The diabolical Spanish plot uncovered!
Venice, shush from now on if you want us to help you
You are going to help him whether you like it or not. To put it simply, Venice has the advantage.
...or you're attacking Venice in the game and have chosen to come second after the Turks.
Selfy is actually on top of an opportunity to catch two hares in one go, which most likely will never come again. I doubt he will try it though. From what I have seen, he is a defensive player.

Come on, your side is large enough you didn't ought to need to try the old distraction technique. Besides if you focus entirely on err, umm, look a big thing behind you!

Huzzah for me, I deleted the probably very offensive (but a classic and meant to be funny) comment about Mustafa Kemal - no insults from me today! (other than mentioning that there was one I almost said)

I wonder exactly which one of us is trying this "old distraction technique", hehe.

BTW Swampy, can you update the rankings as well as the current turn holder?

I did update the current position - I suppose you think I shouldn't have put the wrong turn number up. Some people can be so unreasonable

I stated some while back that I'd put ranking graphs up every other turn, so I'll put them up once I get turn 43 through (unless someone else wants to upload rankings in the meantime).

Oh, for some reason, I thought you put the charts of even turns. My bad.

Bandito you are the one who betrayed me. You preemptively attacked both my fleets and sunk them. The only traitorous one is YOU.
posted 18 November 2009 05:04 EDT (US)     942 / 1439
Oh, wow. This comes from a person who had his fleet clearly heading for Egypt all the while telling me that you are actually going to land in Sicily. Are you telling me that you are innocent; just have no sense of direction? Combined with the Spanish and Sicilian armies in Egypt, it would have dealt me a crippling blow. My boy, I didn't lose those 3 stacks to Hoppy for nothing. I learned to sniff out treachery before it can damage me.

There was no reason for me to attack you while three nations declared crusade on me. I only acted after you were deemed with certainty, that you are on their side.
There simply was not enough spine in you to stand by me JuBu, but I understand. Playing it safe is perfectly acceptable.

PS: the traitor I mentioned above was actually referring to Hoppy, but really, you are only a teensy bit better than him.

Selifator actually turned the save around quite quickly this time - then EoJ sat on it for a few days. Lloydsgamble has had hardware difficulty (no idea where/if Jubuorangie is) but believes he'll be running properly again by this evening (US time, alas).

We really could do with a few turns to go quickly rather than everything dragging out.
posted 23 November 2009 06:44 EDT (US)     948 / 1439
Well, lets hope Lloyds can manage to play this evening and send it to Swampy. BTW Swampy, did you insure your fleets?

Michael Jackson
posted 23 November 2009 07:21 EDT (US)     949 / 1439
Alas the insurance companies all claimed that they couldn't trust autoresolve.

I take if you managed to find and destroy all of them then? If I had more man-power I'd have your spy submarines hunted down so that there'd be some safe patch of ocean you didn't know all shipping movements for...
posted 23 November 2009 08:20 EDT (US)     950 / 1439
Oh no, nothing that grand. I simply spotted your fleet near Durazzo and I thought I should take a closer look. You really should have killed my spy in Naples region when you had the chance. He has a great view of things.
