Hotseat game status: - Sicily has won on turn 115

Players (in turn order): (with links to write-ups) plus some other links where I consider it to be funny

Selifator: England
Kilij Ae Varyl: Spain

Venice - FACTION DESTROYED

Me Sicily

EoJ: Turks
I think I might have referenced this video before in the first crusade
This might be more appropriate... Looks like I was right there

Rankings - Turn 101

Rankings - Turn 69

Subs
Glacier_Girl played as sub for England - T29, T30
- played as sub for Sicily - T33

Monty501 played as sub for Spain T30, T 31
JuBuOrangie played as sub for Venice - T31 to T40
Lloydsgamble played as sub for Venice T41 to 42
Brutiangodofrock played as sub for Venice T43 to T65
Zsmart one played as sub for Turks T50 to T65
Hashoosh played as sub for Turks T64

Rules to note:

No 'exploiting' of any kind (e.g. putting forts on resources and stocking them with merchants) nor reloading your go to get a better result.

If I don't hear from a player within 4 days of receiving a turn, I will try to find a sub to take the turn.

If you don't expect to be able to play within 4 days, just let me know - extensions are fine (preferably not too often though please). I'll send a reminder email after a couple of days as a prompt.

If you expect an extended absence, e.g. not being able to play for over a week, you're invited to arrange a sub, giving them instructions etc so your turn is played as you'd like it to be.

An 'un-arranged' sub has the option to take over after 2 weeks or 10 turns The '2 weeks' here looks a little low, but the turn limit looks high?

Need the password, then I'll be able to play.

I have finished the turn, not really much left to work with. I have sent the save to SwampRat (I think. I hope.) and await further news.

Note- Please unarchive the Venice thread.

Done. Had to read a bit to make sure it was the right one (I've only just added [hotseat A] to the title) and my lord is it horribly out of date

That just leaves the Turks without the [HotseatA] tag at the front of their writeup...
(unless you fixed that)

I'll impressed/pleased if the writeups are still going after a couple more turns.

I have finished the turn of Venice, I didn't bother with too much recruiting, all the stuff I could get was not even worth recruiting.

To be frankly honest I completely forgot that Venice now had a player

It's quite good of GundamMerc to take them on, in my opinion, given that they've been left to drift for a little while and probably don't have many options.

One note though, don't trust the Turks (unless they say "we're going to attack you")- everyone knows they're trouble...

Na, the Sultans were good to the Venetians (except when they sat by and let Venice get decimated by Crusade, but hey), and it's easy to see why, so I'm rather willing to dispatch a diplomat north and get them on their feet again- I've got a fair bit of cash, after all.

The large army and recently conquered settlement just to the east of Bran are just looking after things for Venice then? Splendid, once you've handed those back over to Venice, withdrawn the armies and parted with lots of cash then we can all be happy (and probably invaded by GundamMerc's resurgent Venice...)

A Spanish diplomat (nobody expects the Spanish diplomat) will be on his way too. I suspect that if I taunt EoJ enough the diplomat will have to pop over with reparations too. Doh.

The Sultans weren't exactly horrible to venice but the loss of Bandito became a pain as he left nothing to inform his successfor of what we had planned and lets face it, it sounded like a lie when i told the Turk player "Bandito promised me military aid and several substantial payments.." . So i severed ties with the Catholics because i saw Bandito as more of a threat.. Despite my stupid decisions, i think that i put up as good a show as i could against the aggression of England. I simply wasn't at all expecting Swampy's blitzkrieg of Italy.

Ahh yes, I'd forgotten about how Venice left the Italian mainland. We'll I've always thought it best to let bygones be bygones, bury the hatchet and all.

Tum tee tum

-edit - actually, that was Sicily, Spain was largely blameless until it ignored the Treaty of Zagreb. Oh.

Where has Bandito gone?

It may have been Sicily, but it was still you Swampy . I can forgive.. but i can't forget.

Bandito disappeared, as far as i know, without warning. Just wish he had left some message for his successor or perhaps left before i decided to throw my lot in with him. Would have gave Venice more of a chance. I was in a bas position, if i sided with the Catholics i would have been used as a buffer zone by them to hold back the Turks and subsequently been destroyed by Bandito. If i sided with the Turks i would have been attacked by the Catholics and they would have destroyed me. In the End i allied to Bandito but tried to stay Neutral with the others. Swampy and Selifator had other plans, and i had my doubts about EoJ :P

Personally I thought that it'd have been nice to have heard something from him so that we knew he was alright (given he'd been quite an active community member). Maybe that's just a morbid way of looking at things. That must have been over a year ago now.

Any regrets about leaving the hotseat Brutian?

To an extent, i'd like to have stood by Venice to the end, unfortunately it wasn't actually a choice, it was the fact my PC which can play the game but i can't access my email there and i can't play the game on my laptop, which CAN access my email.

And you are right, when he first disappeared i thought nothing of it, but i have become a bit worried about our resident Mongolian. Hopefully he is ok and just found something better than TWHeaven... So a girl or his insanity has finally taken over .

Yeah, I was pointing Selif and Swampy in Venice's direction, hoping to nick in myself.

RE: Bandito, he mentions in the Turkish thread that he had a new job, and was struggling for time a bit, dated 5th August '09.

I do wonder how Spain, England, and Sicily will respond to my letters (wait, did I send Sicily a letter?). Anywho, I will be roleplaying Venice, so don't expect anything rational. That isn't to say I won't be faithful to agreements. Oh, you'll see.

A general update - we're on to Turn 72, England.

I have taken screenshots for the T71 ranking scrolls, but haven't got them uploaded etc. They are, unsurprisingly, quite similar to the T69 scrolls. I'll either update the scrolls in the OP soon, or possibly rebel and wait for T73 to come around.

I'm looking forward to reading Venice's message. My attempts to RP a character generally fall very short - the best I managed was in hotseatB (while it was alive) where the English king was convinced that the Moors had pixies spying on him. That's probably more "being stupid" then "roleplaying" though.

Can you say that I am fanatically ruling Venice with an iron fist?

I need to update the thread, and send e-mails to all the players, but I'm a bit busy at present.

In the mean time, pretend you've all received the polite, well-thought out and generally pleasant e-mails I'll be sending you.

It seems my PC is letting me receive and send emails again now, so i'd like to volunteer as a sub. For anyone. Except Venice.

We wouldn't welcome your heretical ways, so you need not worry about trying to rule our lands. May death find you, heretic!
